On January 18, 2024, together with my colleagues Nera Batina and Božena Ukić, I participate at the international scientific conference on "Human Rights Protection in the 21st Century" that took place in the Croatian Parliament. The conference was organized by the Committee on Human Rights and Rights of National Minorities of the Croatian Parliament.
I participated in the aforementioned conference and delivered a brief presentation on the topic "Learning through projects about human rights in schools have the potential to lay the foundation for a fair and inclusive society".
The focus of my presentation was to demonstrate how working on various projects, such as those related to space, can educate students about the importance of human rights.
In my presentation, I emphasized that integrating human rights themes into school projects provides a unique opportunity to teach students about fundamental values and principles. I particularly highlighted examples of projects in the field of space as relevant platforms for promoting understanding of equality, freedom, and respect for diversity.
Projects can be used as a means to develop awareness of the universal rights of every individual. Additionally, I underscored the importance of fostering empathy and tolerance among students to become responsible citizens who appreciate human rights.
My presentation sparked a constructive discussion among conference participants, and after the panel, questions were raised that further deepened the topic.
In conclusion, I believe that this conference contributed to raising awareness about the importance of protecting human rights in contemporary society, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of this inspiring and educational event.
